How prediction games work
Back the outcome you think will happen. If you’re right, you share the prize pool with everyone else who backed it.
- Step 01
Pick an outcome
Choose which party you think will win Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election: APC, NDC or another party.
- Step 02
Choose your entries
Each entry costs 5 USDT, and you can buy up to 100 at a time. The more entries you hold on the winning outcome, the bigger your share.
- Step 03
Stake
Press the stake button for your outcome, then approve the USDT and confirm in your wallet. Staking closes before the result is decided.
- Step 04
Claim your winnings
INEC’s final result decides the winner. After a five-day wait in case it changes (see “Which result counts”), the team records the winning outcome on the contract. Winners then have 7 days to claim their share.
Which result counts
This game is about Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election. The winning outcome is the party whose candidate Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declares President-elect: INEC’s final result is the official result.
- We wait five days in case INEC changes its announcement. The result that counts is INEC’s last announcement before midnight WAT at the end of the fifth day after it first announces the final result. For example, if INEC announces the final result on a Monday, the cut-off is midnight WAT at the end of Saturday.
- If there’s a run-off (a second vote between the leading candidates, held when no one wins the first round outright), the run-off’s declared winner counts, and the five-day wait starts from that declaration.
- Nothing after the cut-off counts: not a later announcement, and not a change that comes from a court or tribunal case.
- After the cut-off, the team records the winning outcome on the contract, and winners have 7 days to claim.
The odds are decided by you
There are no fixed odds: they come from how players stake. The more entries an outcome gets, the more of a favourite it is, and the less each of its entries pays if it wins. An outcome with fewer entries is the underdog, so it pays more.
- Each 5 USDT entry adds 4.50 USDT to the prize pool, after the 10% platform fee*.
- All three outcomes share one prize pool. At the result, 5% of it goes to the DAO treasury (2.5%) and NFT staking (2.5%), and the other 95% is shared equally between all the entries on the winning outcome.
- The odds keep moving until staking closes, as more entries come in. What each winning entry pays is set by the entries at the close.
- Winnings must be claimed within 7 days of the result being recorded on the contract; the page then shows the exact deadline. After that, unclaimed winnings are forfeited.
For example
- Staked: 40,000 entries on APC, 38,000 on NDC and 500 on another party
- 392,500 USDT
- Prize pool, after the 10% platform fee
- 353,250 USDT
- DAO treasury and NFT staking (5%)
- 17,662.50 USDT
- Left to share between the winning entries
- 335,587.50 USDT
If APC wins
The favourite: 40,000 entries
Each 5 USDT entry pays back about
8.39 USDT
335,587.50 ÷ 40,000, about 1.7× the stake
If NDC wins
Close behind: 38,000 entries
Each 5 USDT entry pays back about
8.83 USDT
335,587.50 ÷ 38,000, about 1.8× the stake
If another party wins
The long shot: 500 entries
Each 5 USDT entry pays back about
671.18 USDT
335,587.50 ÷ 500, about 134× the stake
APC and NDC have almost the same number of entries, so they pay about the same. Another party is the long shot: if it wins, its 500 entries share the same 335,587.50 USDT, so each one pays far more.
*The 10% platform fee is charged on each entry.
